PCE shortlisted for two national industry awards

Premier Communication Electronics (PCE) has been shortlisted for two national industry awards.

For the sixth year running, the Exeter-based radio and mobile communications specialist has been named as one of three finalists in the installers’ category of the Federation of Communication Services’ 2013 FCS Industry Awards.

In addition, PCE has been shortlisted for the Apprentice of the Year Award on the first year of entering this category.

FCS is the trade association for the communication services sector representing companies delivering products and services by means of radio, mobile, fixed and IP telephony.

The installer award recognises good workmanship, proven knowledge and practical ability in providing quality and safe installations of electrical communications equipment into vehicles. PCE’s entry was based on its work in installing radio equipment and 360˚ covert lights and sirens into a South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust officer’s car.

PCE’s apprentice Tom Virgin has been shortlisted for the apprentice award.

PCE’s Managing Director Karen Langley said: “We are delighted to be named among the finalists for these two categories. It is the first year we have entered the apprentice category despite our long history in providing an apprenticeship programme. I wish Tom the very best of luck for this award and hope we can make it two out of two to recognise the innovative skill displayed in the 360˚ solution installed for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.”

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony held in London on Thursday, June 13.
